General

What is CoreWyre?

CoreWyre is a UniFi-exclusive security systems integrator based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We design, install, and maintain surveillance, access control, and networking infrastructure for HOA communities, multifamily properties, single-family homes, and businesses throughout the Pikes Peak region. We operate on a privacy-first, client-owned infrastructure model.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Colorado Springs and all surrounding communities including Fountain, Security-Widefield, Monument, Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, Falcon, Peyton, Black Forest, and Fort Carson. If you are within the Pikes Peak region, we can likely serve you — contact us to confirm.

Do you offer a military discount?

Yes. We offer a 15% discount on all labor for active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, and their immediate families. This is a permanent discount, not a promotional offer. Valid military ID or DD-214 is required. The discount applies to installation labor, monthly service plans, and Academy training sessions.

How long does a typical installation take?

Residential installations typically take 1-2 days. Small commercial projects (8-16 cameras) usually complete in 2-3 days. Large HOA or multifamily deployments may take 1-2 weeks depending on scope, cable runs, and site conditions. We provide a detailed timeline during your free Integrity Audit.

Technology

Why do you only use UniFi equipment?

UniFi is the only platform that lets us deliver on every promise we make: local-only recording, full client hardware ownership, edge AI processing, a unified management interface, and zero cloud dependency. We evaluated Axis, Verkada, Avigilon, Rhombus, and others — none matched UniFi's combination of privacy, ownership, and cost-effectiveness. Read our full analysis at our Why UniFi page.

Can my existing Wi-Fi cameras be jammed?

Yes. Any camera that relies on Wi-Fi to transmit video can be disabled by a Wi-Fi jammer — a device available online for as little as $10 according to published reports. This affects Ring, Nest, Arlo, Blink, Wyze, and all other wireless cameras. Our hardwired PoE cameras are physically impossible to jam because they transmit data through copper ethernet cables, not radio waves.

What is the UniFi AI Key?

The UniFi AI Key is a dedicated AI processing unit that plugs into your local console. It enables natural language search (e.g., 'person in red jacket near the gate'), advanced smart detections, facial recognition, and enhanced analytics — all processed locally on your premises. No footage or AI data is sent to the cloud.

Do I need internet for my cameras to work?

No. Your cameras record to a local NVR (Network Video Recorder) over your local network. They function with no internet connection whatsoever. Internet is only needed for remote access via the mobile app. If your internet goes down, your cameras continue recording locally without interruption.

Pricing & Service

Do you require long-term contracts?

No. All of our Infrastructure Integrity plans are month-to-month. You can cancel at any time with no penalties or fees. Your hardware belongs to you regardless — canceling our service means you lose ongoing maintenance and support, not your equipment.

What is Infrastructure Integrity?

Infrastructure Integrity is our recurring maintenance service that keeps your security system healthy and performing. It includes automated connectivity checks, firmware management, AI zone tuning, image quality audits, PoE diagnostics, and priority support. It is not monitoring — we never watch your camera feeds. We maintain system health so your infrastructure works when you need it.

How much does a basic system cost?

Hardware costs vary by project scope. A typical residential system with 4-8 cameras, a Dream Machine Pro Max, and professional installation ranges from $3,000 to $6,000. HOA and commercial projects vary widely based on camera count, cable run distances, and access control requirements. We provide detailed, transparent quotes during your free Integrity Audit.

Do I own the equipment after installation?

Yes. Every camera, switch, NVR, cable, and access hub we install becomes your property. It is a capital asset on your balance sheet — depreciable, transferable, and fully yours. If you cancel our service, sell your property, or switch providers, you keep everything. This is a core principle of how we operate.

Privacy & Data

Where is my camera footage stored?

All footage is recorded and stored on a UniFi NVR device physically located in your building. Nothing is uploaded to any cloud server — not Ubiquiti's, not Amazon's, not anyone's. Your footage resides on hardware you own, inside your premises, under your control.

Can CoreWyre access my camera footage?

Not without your explicit permission. We do not have standing access to your recordings. During maintenance, if we need to verify camera image quality or troubleshoot an issue, we request temporary access that you grant and can revoke at any time. We never browse, review, or access your footage for any other reason.

What happens if law enforcement requests my footage?

Because your footage is stored locally on hardware you own, law enforcement must come to you — not to a cloud provider. There is no third-party vendor who can comply with a subpoena or warrant on your behalf. You control who sees your footage and under what circumstances. We strongly recommend consulting legal counsel before sharing footage with any party.

Is facial recognition data sent to the cloud?

No. All facial recognition processing happens locally on your NVR and AI Key. Face data, recognition models, and match results are stored on your local hardware. No biometric data leaves your premises at any point in the process.

Legal & Compliance

What is Assumption of Duty and why does it matter?

Assumption of Duty is a legal doctrine where an entity that voluntarily assumes a protective role (like active camera monitoring) can be held liable when that protection fails. Traditional monitoring companies create this liability for their clients. CoreWyre's Passive Intelligence approach — maintaining system health without watching feeds — avoids creating this legal exposure. Consult your attorney for advice specific to your situation.

Are there any ongoing licensing fees?

No. UniFi does not charge per-camera license fees, cloud storage fees, or annual software subscriptions. Once you own the hardware, the software is included. The only recurring cost is our optional Infrastructure Integrity maintenance plan — which is month-to-month and cancellable anytime.

Do you provide documentation for insurance claims?

We provide system documentation including camera placement maps, recording retention schedules, and system architecture diagrams. For specific incidents, we train your team through CoreWyre Academy to properly export evidence-grade footage with intact metadata and chain of custody documentation.
